About Us

McClure Elementary

History: James A. McClure Elementary was named for a prominent Topekan who distinguished himself in many ways. Professionally, he was a practicing attorney and a Shawnee County District Court Judge. For twelve years, from 1929 to 1941, he served as a member of the Topeka Board of Education. He was an instructor at Washburn University School of Law for several years.

Past Principals: Bill Horn, Gary Scoggins, Dr. Candy Deay-Barridge, Nancy Hedstrom, Dr. Jennifer Gordon

The mission of McClure is to prepare all students academically and socially to be effective citizens in a culturally diverse society.
